気になったので調べてみたんですけど、公式(?)に具体的なリリーススケジュールが
示されたのが PEP 316 のようですが

リリースの日時も

# 2007.08.31:Python 3.0 a1
# 2007.12.07:Python 3.0 a2
# 2008.03.01:Python 3.0 a3
# 2008.04.02:Python 3.0 a4

で、final release の時期はAugust 2008 で動いていてません。
もっとも PEPのほうの記述だと

Jul 02 2008: Python 2.6b2 and 3.0b2 planned
Aug 06 2008: Python 2.6rc1 and 3.0rc1 planned
Aug 20 2008: Python 2.6rc2 and 3.0rc2 planned
Sep 03 2008: Python 2.6 and 3.0 final

となっているので、微妙に遅れがあるといえばありますか。

いずれにしろ「(βが)リリースされてるはずだったのに」とかぶーたれるのは
外野のせりふとしてはいかがなものかと。
