Prolog はまあバックトラックの塊みたいなもんでしょうけど、Haskellや
Erlang ではパターンマッチはともかくバックトラックはないんじゃないでしょうか?

あと、Sumの件ですけど、プログラムの参考にしたって方のページにもなぜSumでいいのか、
そうしたのかという理由は書かれていないようですし、
mathematical process of addition とかあるから積を格納する変数の名前には
やっぱりよろしくないと思うんですけど。
